Hello River Day Families,

In case you haven’t yet heard, our team was awesome at the FLL State competition in Ellensburg! We improved on all of our presentation scores and we placed seventh in the robot performance out of twenty four teams. This was a great experience for the kids and their coaches. We were very pleased that a group of students considerably younger that the rest of their competitors was able to perform at such a high level. Other coaches said the same thing to us during the course of the day.

We are continuing our studies of Ancient Greece in the classroom. We are more than halfway through the Lightning Thief and the kids are really enjoying the story. We are almost finished with our god/goddess posters and are expecting to see quality projects on Friday. We are also reading aloud a prose version of Homer’s Odyssey. We will be using some of what we learn from this on our project for our River Day School auction.

In math, we are still up to our eyeballs in geometry. We are starting to classify triangles according to their side lengths or by the measures of their angles.

On Thursday, February 28th we are having an Open House at our current location from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Send anyone you know who may be interested in our amazing school to our Open House.

Also, on Thursday, we are having an open house for our current families at the new school location at 1627 E Trent starting at 6 p.m. This is a great opportunity to see our new space and get a glimpse into our future.

On Friday, March 1st our team that went to state will be on KHQ 6 morning news. We are tentatively scheduled to go on at about 6:40 a.m. We are confident that this will be a riveting story about a rookie Lego team’s quest for glory!

Friday is Student’s day to choose our lunch. After cautious deliberation, it was decided on chicken strips, fries, and corn on the cob. Here’s the list of who is bringing what:
